CC TISCA Meet Summary
The Vista Ridge Swim Team had a challenging meet on Nov 18-19 at the Corpus TISCA. Vista was among 50 plus teams at the meet which gave our young team some great competitive experience. Our swimmers swam well for the middle of the season without any kind of taper.
Steven Leal and Tyler Petty both went personal bests in the 200 Free in prelims. Swimming side by side definitely increased their motivation.
Jackson Wahman had a great 50 Free breaking 26 seconds again and swimming it cold.
Shimshon Zeevi also went a best time in the 50 Free and helped push Austin Siu to a season best in the 100 Breast.
Despite injury and unexpectedly having to perform a new dive, Clay Shriver was able to make cut after cut in the 1 Meter Diving rounds and placed 11th overall.
Andrew Alsina and Blake Bennett provided strong support in the Boys' 200 Medley Relay (Petty, Siu, Alsina, and Bennett) and 200 Free Relay (Bennett, Alsina, Siu, and Petty).
Ashlynn Waddill held to her best time in the 100 Back and also broke 30 seconds in her leg on the Girls' 200 Free Relay (Erzal, Grady, Waddill, Doye).
Katie Grady went a season best in the 500 Free and showed more consistency in her swim.
Morgan Erzal made the B final in the 100 Fly and 500 Free and did well considering these are her off events. Morgan placed 14th in 100 Fly and and 15th in 500 Free overall.
Sam Sutton had a rough start in prelims but was able to make the A final in the 50 Free and 100 Fly and dropped time from prelims in both events to place 5th in 50 Free and 6th in 100 Fly overall.
The Girls' 200 Medley Relay (Erzal, Sutton, Doye, Worthington) placed 2nd in the B Final (8th overall) and dropped over a second and a half from their prelims time. Lizzy Doye went a best time in her 50 fly split and Katherine Worthington had a great 50 free anchor leg. Sam Sutton dominated her 50 breast leg in the B final - at 31 seconds, she swam her breaststroke leg over 2 seconds faster than any other B final relay team's breaststroker.
